AA TEAMS WILL COMPETE WITH DISTRICT 12

A TOURNAMENT WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 7 TEAMS.

-         5 points for each win

-         1 times the winning percentage of the teams you defeat

-         each time you beat them, times 10

-         winning percentage of the other teams in your league x 5

-         add all three numbers together and then divide by the number of LEAGUE games

PLAYOFF FORMAT

  1. COACHES ASSIGN MANAGERS TO RETRIEVE FOUL BALLS
    1. Home Team from behind the plate and 3rd base side

 of the field.

b. Visiting Team from behind the plate and 1st base    side of the field.

  1. After each game, dugouts and areas around the dugouts are to be cleaned of all cups, paper, etc. As guests it will be the responsibility of the coaching staff to leave the dugouts clean of trash.

 

 

 

 

DISTRICT RULES

 

1.All teams come dressed to play.

 

2.Home team will be the official scorebook.

 

3.Teams may use multiple coaches ONLY if they are in uniform “according to PIAA Rule”.

 

4.No team is to take fielding practice before the designated time.

 

5.Positively no batting practice will be permitted at the game site. (Applies to neutral sites).  It is suggested to take batting practice at your home school.

 

6.There will be NO district all-star team selected by our Committee.

 

 

7.Each team will bring six balls. Only the following balls will be accepted: Wilson 1010 Super Seam.

 

8.PIAA and National Federation rules will be used and followed by the officials.

9. Protests are not allowed.

 

10.Roster cards in triplicate are to be presented to the umpires with substitutes names and numbers on back. Playing Numbers must be on the cards.

 

11.Team personnel only will be allowed in the dugout. Sports writers are not permitted in the dugout or on the field. Photographers may not be allowed on the field or in the dugout.

 

12.No personal comments shall be directed at officials, opposing coaches or players. Such action shall lead to forfeiture of the game.

 

13.Decisions on postponements due to inclement weather will rest with the game supervisor and officials. A decision will be made by 2:00 P.M.  It will be the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TEAM TRAVELING TO CALL THE SITE BEFORE THEY LEAVE.

 

14.All Games prior to Semi-Final Round will be played at Site of top seeded team; Semi-Finals/Finals/ Consolations will be played at neutral sites.

 

15.In the remaining rounds of the AAAA, AAA, AA, and A playoffs, the team at the top of the bracket will sit on the 3rd base side of the field and take fielding practice first.  The team at the bottom of the bracket will sit on the 1st base side of the field and take fielding practice last. HOME TEAM will be determined by a flip of a coin 20 minutes before game time.

 

16 Pre Game Format:

Home Team Fielding Practice 35 minutes before start of game for 15 minutes. Visiting Team Fielding Practice 20 minutes before start of game for 15 minutes.

GAME SUPERVISOR

Home Team Athletic Director or Designee will be the Game Supervisor.

 

FIRST ROUND AND PIGTAIL GAMES

  1. All games prior to the semi-final round will be played at the site of the top seeded team. Semi-Finals/Finals/Consolations will be played at neutral sites.
  2. Umpires will be assigned by the District Committee  .
  3. Game Supervisor is responsible for:
    1. Preparation of field
    2. Contact visiting school with directions and/or postponements due to rain. Postponed games must be rescheduled the next day.  If game cannot be played on the home site as scheduled, the following stipulation will prevail:

First Choice- Home Field site

Second Choice – An acceptable field in the League- If home field site is not playable.

Third Choice – District Chairman will designate a field.

    1. Collect 6 balls from each team – Wilson A1010-ML,

Super Seam.

    1. Ground Rules – National Federation
    2. No Admission Will be Charged
    3. Home Team is the official scorebook
    4. Winning team will call Scholastic Score Service

    1. POSTPONE – OR SUSPENDED GAMES call Jack

Peoples at 610-543-5771.

    1. A legal game is 4 ½ or 5 Innings. You do not have to have completed 7 innings to have a legal game. A game called because of rain or darkness which is less than a legal game or tied after 5 innings will be a suspended game.  The game will be completed on the next playable day from the point at which the game was suspended 
    2. Protest will not be allowed. Any rule conflicts will be settled by game Umpires.

*AA Teams will compete in District Playoffs with District 12.
