DIVING REGULATIONS
Beginning with the first Contest day of Regular Season for swimming and diving and ending with the last Contest day of Regular Season for swimming and diving, all diving competition shall consist of one (l) voluntary dive, which shall be done first, and five (5) optional dives, coming from at least 4 of the 5 groups and which may include any of the dives other than the voluntary dive.
The voluntary dive groups and the Calendar Weeks for the 2011-2012 swimming and diving Regular Season shall be as follows: Forward group for weeks beginning December 4, January 8, and February 12; Back group for weeks beginning December 11, January 15 and February 19; Inward group for weeks beginning December 18, and January 22; Twisting group for weeks beginning December 25 and January 29; and Reverse group for weeks beginning January 1 and February 5.
In the case of a Regular Season Contest that is postponed and, subsequently rescheduled, the voluntary dive group shall be the voluntary dive group that is required for the Calendar Week in which the postponed Regular Season Contest is rescheduled.

** All entry times must be from valid PIAA meets conducted during the2011-12 season. Coaches must be able to verify upon the request by the Meet Director, all entry information. Coaches entering invalid times will have their swimmers disqualified from that event. To qualify; a swimmer or relay team must have equaled or bettered the times listed.

is the qualifying system for the state swimming championships to be conducted

AUTOMATIC
INDIVIDUAL
District One will receive one (l) automatic AA qualifier. District One will receive four (4) automatic AAA qualifiers. The total number of automatic qualifiers throughout the State will be sixteen (16) swimmers. All twelve (12) Districts will be represented at the State Meet.
ADDITIONAL INDIVIDUAL STATE QUALIFIERS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL EVENT
In addition to the sixteen (16) swimmers selected in the District Championships across the State; sixteen (16) additional swimmers throughout the State will be selected by time. The total number of swimmers in each individual event will not exceed thirty-two (32). There will be a maximum of four (4) heats in each individual event. In the event of a tie for the 32nd qualifier, the use of the fully validated automatic District seed times will determine which swimmer will advance to the PIAA Swimming Championships.
ADDITIONAL RELAY STATE QUALIFIERS FOR EACH RELAY EVENT
In addition to the sixteen (16) relays selected in the District Championships across the State; eight (8) additional relays throughout the State will be selected by time. There will be a maximum of three (3) heats in each relay event. In the event of a tie for the 24th relay qualifier, the use of the validated fully automatic District seed times will be used to determine which relay team will advance to the PIAA Swimming Championships.
Final result for swimmers and relays qualifying for the State Meet will be posted on the PIAA Website when all District Swimming Championships throughout the State conclude there championship meets.
