GIRLS DISTRICT GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

GOLF COMMITTEE
A SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE IS NEEDED FOR
ALL PARTICIPANTS. IF YOU HAVE A BOY OR
GIRL AT DIFFERENT SITES, YOU NEED TWO REPRESENTATIVES. IF IT IS NOT A SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE, CLEAR
THE NAME WITH STEVE NATALIE, GLEN MILLS SCHOOLS.
NO COACHING IS PERMITTED ONCE A
PARTICIPANT HAS TEED OFF ON THE FIRST TEE DURING ANY MATCH THROUGH OUT THE
SEASON. ALSO, NO HELP BETWEEN TEAM
MATES IS PERMITTED. TEAM MATES ARE NOT
PARTNERS.
IF SIX OR MORE LEAGUES HAVE GIRLS’
TEAMS, THEN ONLY THE LEAGUE CHAMPION COMPETES AT THE DISTRICT ONE
CHAMPIONSHIP. IF LESS THEN SIX, THEN
THE LEAGUE CHAMPION AND RUNNER UP CAN ATTEND THE DISTRICT ONE CHAMPIONSHIP.
IN THE NEED TO POSTPONE THE CHAMPIONSHIP,
DISTRICT ONE WILL POST IT ON THEIR WEBSITE.
DATE: Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7
Rain Date: Wednesday, October 8
LOCATION: First Day: Hickory Valley – Presidential Course
Second Day: Turtle Creek Golf Course
REGIONAL INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
DATE: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 (THIS DATE IS NEW AND CURRENT)
LOCATION: Golden Oaks Golf Club
FORMAT: The championship will include competitors from Districts 1, 2, 3,
4, 11 &12. A total of 32 girls will advance from these Districts.
District 1 has been allotted 8 of that number.
STATE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
DATE: Monday, October 20 & Tuesday, October 21, 2008
LOCATION: Heritage Golf Club, York, PA.
Format: From the Regional Championship, 13 girls will advance to the State
Championship. They will be joined by11 girls from the Western Regional Championship to compete in the State Individual Championship.
DISTRICT TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DATE: Monday, 6, 2008
LOCATION: Hickory Valley – Presidential Course
REGIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DATE: Monday, October 13, 2008
LOCATION: Golden Oaks Golf Course
FORMAT: This championship will be comprised of the same six (6) Districts as the
Individual Championship. Each District may enter its team champion.
STATE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DATE: Monday & Tuesday - OCTOBER 20,21, 2008
LOCATION: Heritage Golf Club, York, PA.
FORMAT: From the Regional Team Championship, two (2) teams will advance
to the State Championship. They will be joined by two (2) teams from the
Western Team Regional to compete for the State Title.
From the Regional Team Tournament, the top two (2) teams will advance
to the State Tournament. They will be joined by two (2) teams from the
Western Team Regional to compete for the State Title.

NOTE: The qualifying standard for girls to make the Districts will be as follows:
All female players must shoot a score no higher than 28 strokes over the
Women’s course rating from the tees from which they are playing.
To accommodate the additional girls expected to qualify, the girl’s first
round of Districts will be held at Hickory Valley Golf Club on October 6th.
The low ten scores and ties will advance to the second round at Turtle Creek.
